Overview
Zahra Amiruddin is an independent writer, photographer, and photography professor with a decade of experience in visual practices and contemporary art. Her work, exploring ethnography, astronomy, personal narratives, and family histories, has appeared in national and international publications.
Amiruddin has exhibited in Greece, South Korea, Indonesia, and India. She contributed text for the photobook Between Doors (2021) on North Korea and is a member of 8.30, a collective of women photographers in India.
Her project A Brief Glimpse was shown at the Jakarta International Photo Festival (2022) and Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts (2023). She also held a solo exhibition at Method Art Gallery (2022).
Based in Mumbai.
