Overview
Dipali Gupta is an award-winning artist based between Malaysia and Mumbai. Her multidisciplinary practice explores abstraction, eroticism, and feminist theory, challenging societal norms around sexuality and identity.
A finalist for the Sovereign Asian Art Prize (2022) and winner of the Chan Davies Art Prize (2018), her work has been exhibited in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and internationally. She studied at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, and Goldsmiths, London, and was selected for the Drawing Research Residency at L’AIR Arts, Paris (2020).
Gupta co-moderates Constructing the Body at Malaysia Design Archive and has lectured in Cinema and Sociology at MMU, Kuala Lumpur.
Currently based in Mumbai, India.
